The Pritzen church was demolished in 1991, when the closure of the open-cast mine that threatened the village had already been decided. However, the village received a bell tower that came from Wolkenberg, a village that had disappeared due to the open-cast mine. The Pritzen village church was relocated between 1988 and 1992 and rebuilt at the new location in Spremberg, and finally consecrated as the Evangelical Resurrection Church in 1994.

The former Greifenhain opencast mine is currently being flooded. Flooding is scheduled to end in 2030. The lake will then be 898 hectares in size and a maximum of 67 m deep.

The cycle path around Lake Altdöbern is great. There are some climbs to contend with. Be sure to pack sunscreen, unfortunately there is hardly any shade. Sea buckthorn, among other things, also blooms on both sides.

Very nice place to stay. However, it is the salt pond and not salt lake! The entire palace park is definitely worth a visit ;)
