Here is a particularly beautiful viewpoint of the lake, and the shoreline has been adorned for many years with a rustic tree trunk featuring fascinating protrusions. The bowl-shaped cavities are the remnants of former branchings, the "joints" of this dead tree, so to speak. They look magnificent. It's worth taking a look, and taking photos too. A great subject. And, of course, an exceptionally beautiful place to linger for a while!

Beautiful circular walk around the Hellsee (approx. 8km) Unfortunately quite busy in summer. But in the cold season you can have peace and quiet there.

The first documented mention of Lanke was in a Latin document dated December 24, 1315. Around 1415, Lanke came into possession of Biesenthal Castle and thus fell to the old Margraviate of Brandenburg's von Arnim noble family.
