The Hohen Viecheln bathing area is located on the northern shore of Lake Schwerin. It features a very large lawn for sunbathing, offering space for games and sports. A jetty leads into the water. The shore is sandy and gently sloping.

The connection to Lake Schwerin was artificially created in 1531 with the aim of making it navigable. A stream called Steffine[1] and draining towards the Baltic Sea was originally already there

The Wallensteingraben, which connects Lake Schwerin with the Bay of Wismar, flows through the water from south to north. The banks are mainly covered with dense woodland. The Bad Kleinen-Wismar railway line runs along the west bank. Directly accessible areas are on the east bank. There are isolated reed beds on the south and north banks.

The Lostener See is located 1.5 kilometres north of the Schweriner Außensee in the municipality of Bad Kleinen in the Nordwestmecklenburg district in Mecklenburg-

The small train station is deserted, deep in the forest, away from any heavy traffic. Trains stop about every two hours in both directions. The wild valleys of the Wallensteingraben are very close by. Wonderful nature.

Very beautiful place here at the northern tip of the Lotsener See. The water rushes under the bridge. In summer the sun is wonderfully low over the water. Very beautiful place in nature. Note: if you want to continue towards Moidentin, you will NOT be able to continue along the railway line. You have to follow the path east of the Wallensteingraben. The bridge here is only part of the path around the lake.
