There is information on Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirche_Magelsen Magelsen was first mentioned in a document by Pope Calixtus II in 1124. The Romanesque church tower was probably built in the 12th century. A pastor at the parish church is documented in 1378. The Reformation was introduced in the mid-1520s. The first Protestant pastor in Magelsen was probably Johann Beldingius or von der Mollen (official around 1525 or 1535–1573). In 1808 the church tower burned down after being struck by lightning and was rebuilt. In 1892 the old church and tower were badly damaged.

The five bays in the main nave of the church have a cross-ribbed vault supported by octagonal pillars, while the narrow side aisles are only indicated. The rectory next door is also a listed building and serves as a parish hall and parish office.

The Alveser See is an oxbow lake of the Weser and lies between the districts of Eitzendorf and Alvesen in the municipality of Hilgermissen. It is around three kilometers long and a maximum of 180 meters wide. Here you can take a break on the idyllic bank.

The Alveser See, an arm of the Weser, lies between the districts of Eitzendorf and Alvesen in the municipality of Hilgermissen in the combined municipality of Grafschaft Hoya and can be reached via the L 201. Here you will find the two campsites "Seerose" and "Am See" with the individual facilities on the inland water.
