Near the bridge over the Olendieksau river, there is a small parking strip for 3-4 cars. A parking area is not immediately obvious – therefore, this spot is worth highlighting.

Mangalitza pigs, also known as Mangalica, are an old Hungarian breed of pig dating back to the 19th century. Their densely curled, almost woolly coat is striking, giving them a more sheep-like appearance than that of typical domestic pigs. These animals are robust, well-adapted to free-range farming, and slow-growing. Their meat is highly marbled and very fatty, which gives it an intense flavor. Therefore, Mangalitza pigs are primarily valued for high-quality products such as ham, bacon, and salami, rather than lean cuts. After nearly disappearing at one point, the breed is now being selectively bred again – as a conscious alternative to industrial pig farming.

If you follow the track plate path between Gut Manhagen & Pohlsee, you will pass this small bay with a small bench that invites you to linger and take a break with a beautiful view of the Pohlsee.

The Brahmsee is a typical flatland or lowland lake in the center of Schleswig-Holstein. It is located about 20 km southwest of the state capital Kiel in the Westensee Nature Park, is about 100 hectares in size and up to 10.4 m deep.

One of the few places where you can see the lake. Another option is a public bathing area on the western shore near the street "Am Hammer" in the holiday home area.

Top... A great resting place

This is a nice memory of the 2022 cycling trip. It wasn't planned as a cycling trip at all, but I accompanied my dear wife to Gut Deutsch Nienhof and went on a bike tour there every day with the help of Komoot. The pictures I have attached show the Blue Bridge, for example.
