The bench is in good condition and ideal for a rest stop. Gorse blooms here in May, and heather blooms in August.

A path leads down to a rest area at Blankensee Lake with somewhat limited visibility. Caution: From there, a well-trodden path runs westward. After a short while, it becomes increasingly lost and overgrown, finally ending at a viewing point. There are unofficial exits from this pasture, but it's best not to use the path at all, especially since the pasture is private, even if it hasn't been used as such for some time.

The elevated rest area with bench is located on a cattle pasture with a great view over Lake Blankensee.

The Drägerweg is a hiking trail between Lübeck and Rothenhusen that has been continuously maintained since 2007. The trail runs almost parallel to the Wakenitz, but has little contact with the river in the southern part. The trail is about 18 km long between the Moltkebrücke pier in Lübeck and Rothenhusen on Lake Ratzeburg. The waterway, used by the Wakenitz shipping company, is about 14 km long. The name refers to the former Lübeck factory owner Heinrich Dräger, whose foundation contributed organizationally and financially. Additional funding was provided from the A 20 motorway project.
