Ala-Korkiakangas is an ancient beach that was once a small island 6,500 years ago. Remember to bring sturdy shoes, as the ground can be wet even in good weather.

Discover the Pilpasuo Nature Trail, a highlight near Oulu that brings you closer to nature in a unique way! The trail leads through a 3,000-year-old coastal bog and impresses with its diverse fauna and flora – including rare bird species and flowering bog plants such as pink rosemary heath. Along the trail, you'll also find two campfire sites and well-preserved wooden walkways, ensuring a pleasant hiking experience through marshy sections.

Partly old, partly new hiking trail. Easy to walk as the path surface is paved with gravel.

Lavvu demolished, doesn't exists any more. Forest adminstration is building new one on lake side.

Very nice place located right next to a large open space/swamp. There was plenty of firewood when we were here in May. We also found some barbecue skewers. The shelter can accommodate about 4 people close together to sleep overnight.

A typical Finnish lavuu, protected from three sides, one side open and a roof. Here you can rest and prepare some food.
