Magic colors. We were here on a sunny day. It was so beautiful to see the colors in the sun.

The idyllic Store Økssø lake is located in the Rold Skov forest area. A flat walking path with picnic areas runs around its shore, which is also accessible with strollers. Swimming is possible in the lake all year round, even in winter.

A typical basin spring - the basin is Denmark's largest spring, with a width of 12 metres at its widest point and a water depth of 4 to 5 metres. The water temperature is 7–8 °C all year round, which is why it never freezes. The water flow from the main spring is about 80 litres/sec. Store Blåkilde was once considered Denmark's most water-rich spring, but recent research has shown that it is third, after Lille Blåkilde and Blåhøl, which both release about 150 litres per second. Partly muddy or metal-grid-covered path - be careful, slippery!
