Óbidos Lagoon is the largest coastal lagoon system in Portugal, located in the district of Leiria, about 85 km from Lisbon. It is a fragile ecosystem and a popular destination for those seeking tranquility, nature and nautical activities, connecting the towns of Óbidos and Caldas da Rainha.

Very nice trail for biking or hiking alone or with kids.

Nice spot to view flamingos (they are almost always there).

Penedo Furado dates back to the Jurassic period, when the sea bathed this inland area, close to Nadadouro. It is now a huge rock, light brown in colour and on the side facing the Óbidos Lagoon, signs of erosion are visible, with deep cavities and one of them ended up going through the rock, forming a passage.

The cliffs north of Foz do Arelho are simply stunning. With walkways installed a few years ago, walking along them is an unforgettable experience, with breathtaking views. At sunset, the landscape becomes even more magical. But be careful: if the wind is strong, be careful on the dirt roads!

Covão dos Musaranhos. A very pleasant space next to the Óbidos Lagoon, it has a picnic area, barbecue and public toilets (unfortunately almost always closed). There is also a bar restaurant with a pleasant terrace (they do not serve dinner).

This place is accessible by gravel and not with a road bike.
