The way up is gravel and can be walked without problems. However, it is quite steep. Within a short time you make quite a few meters on the way up. At the top is a picnic area and from there we continue to the left to the viewing platform, past an incredible number of blueberries and over many pine roots. The view of the fjord is breathtaking, especially when the weather is nice when the water glows blue and glitters.

This is a fantastic little hike with a most rewarding view from the top. Keep your left at the moment when you pass the sign

Detailed description of the old road at the beginning of the hike

From the parking lot at the southern end of the Fånefjell tunnel, first follow the old Kattedalen roads to the end. From there a path leads to this beautiful vantage point. A nice hike without great difficulty. The same way back to the parking lot.

Landeskogen was originally a treatment center for patients with tuberculosis. In 1962 it became a center for the mentally handicapped and in recent years it has been used as a political peace center.
