In front of the old church in Loen is a fairly large stone cross, it is a 1000 year old Celtic cross.

There is a memorial in Loen near the old wooden white church. They are two natural stone slabs. In 1905 and 1936, large amounts of rubble fell from Mount Ramnefjell into Lake Lovatn, the waves killed 135 people, their names are on the plaques in front of the church. You can see from the ages and names that entire families were drowned by the floodwaters
