Heempark is located on the outskirts of Heeg. It is a magnificent 12-hectare area where nature is given space. It is a wonderful place to hike and enjoy nature.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Restaurant De Watersport in Heeg. This restaurant is small but excellent. It's located right on a small canal, and the lovely terrace is a great place to sit. The food was delicious and of superb quality. Woudsend passers-by harbour. From here the village is easy to explore on foot and there are dining options nearby. The Slotermeer and the Heger lake and the fluezen are also easily accessible from Woudsend

There's always something going on at the little lock. This lovely hotel is a great starting point for wonderful bike tours! 👍

The harbor is beautifully located in the middle of the Frisian lake area and has all the necessary facilities to have a good time

After the Doleantie in 1886, the Reformed Church of Woudsend was founded on September 1, 1887. First, church services were held in a farm in Indijk. In February 1888, the large wooden barn with yard and slope of the former Noorderwerf aan de Ee was purchased and converted into a church building. The current (former) church building dates from 1912 and was put into use on March 27, 1913. The cost of the new building with tower and clock was almost 18,000 guilders. The contractor was the young Enne de Boer from Woudsend. During the war the clock was commandeered by the Germans. Because the clock was not returned after the war, a new clock was made and put into use on December 18, 1947. On November 14, 1962, a new organ built by B. Pels en Zoon N.V. in Alkmaar was put into use. In the first months of 1969, the interior of the church was renovated. In 1974/1975 the church building received new stained glass windows.
