Tivedstorp is a historically preserved village nestled within the Tiveden forest, on the border of Västergötland and Närke, Sweden. It's known for its traditional 17th-century architecture, including turf-roofed cottages and hay meadows. Today, it serves as a tourist destination, offering lodging, a café, and access to outdoor activities like hiking in Tiveden National Park.

There is a spacious parking lot right next to the toilet (open whole year) and the kiosk (open in summer). Starting at the parking lot, there is a ~ 3 km round walk around the lake, whereby the first 500m on the eastern bank are flat, paved and wheelchair accessible. In contrast, the forest east of the lake are very hilly and partly covered with rocks and roots.

The red water lilies were discovered by the botanist Bernhard Agaton Kjellmark in 1856. In response to ruthless looting, the water lilies were protected in 1905. During the 1980s, the number of lilies decreased whereby the cause is still unknown despite some research. The flowers are found in different shades from light pink to dark red, caused by a mutation. The red water lilies in Fagertärn bloom approximately from midsummer to the second half of August.
