Don’t miss Gustav III’s Pavilion while wandering Hagaparken. This elegant neoclassical retreat from the 18th century sits in a peaceful spot with lovely views of the park. A valuable piece of royal history to add to your hike.

This 17th-century royal residence – surrounded by gardens, parkland and the Edsviken shoreline – is managed by the Swedish Royal Court and can be visited during its seasonal opening months. Guided tours are available, and the adjoining Orangery Museum (part of Nationalmuseum) hosts a notable art collection. One of the main entrances to the Igelbäcken Nature Reserve, a peaceful green area stretching between Solna and Kista. From here you can explore forest trails, open meadows and the stream that gives the reserve its name. It’s easy to reach from the city, yet once you enter, you quickly forget how close you are to Stockholm.
