It was ideal for our start to a 14-day cycling trip. A great sports and outdoor shop, two supermarkets. We stayed overnight in a B&B after a bus ride from Lulea, with our bikes transported in the back of the (empty) bus.

The New Church (Swedish: Jokkmokks nya kyrka) is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Jokkmokk in northern Sweden. It was built in 1887/88 according to plans by the architect Ernst Jacobsson. The Jokkmokk parish belongs to the Luleå diocese of the Church of Sweden. The church is an example of wooden architecture from the late 19th century. The building has a square floor plan, with a tower rising at one corner, while two other corners are occupied by entrances with a vestibule. The sacristy is in the fourth corner. Between these corner rooms there are galleries on three sides, while the fourth side forms the choir with the altar. The church space has an open and tent-like impression, referring to the predominantly Sami population of this area at the time of construction.

The building is a half-timbered structure in the shape of an elongated octagon with a hipped roof. The facade is painted red with white lattice windows. A wall in the style of the 19th century was built around the church. The church was re-consecrated in 1976. The church has wooden floors, brown wooden walls and a vaulted ceiling with light gray painted wooden paneling.
