The descent should only be attempted with sturdy footwear and may be too risky for those with a fear of heights or unsteady footing. It is also recommended for small children only with extreme caution.

As of August 2025, access by car is only possible from the west; the route from the east and from the parking lot to the east is closed to normal traffic!

The mill originally dates back to the 18th century. It was initially located just upstream of today's Virserumsån. In 1866, it was relocated to its current location—powered by a classic waterwheel—near Cafe Flotten.

This information board is located at the northern entrance, as well as at the south.

A very long bathing jetty invites you to dip your feet in the water. There's a slide on the beach for the little ones.

Parking for just under a dozen vehicles right on the bay of Virserumssjön. Parking is free for up to 12 hours. It's a good starting point for a hike around the lake or for exploring the small town.

South of the lake's bay and the tributary of the Virserumsån River, there's a barbecue area and sun loungers for relaxing. When using the boat dock located to the north, you have a perfect view of the hustle and bustle. There's also a playground for kids.

South of the church is a small island surrounded by the Virserumsån River. There's a rest area on it and a good view of the road bridge, although it's rather unspectacular. The island is a good place to observe the ducks and geese that live here.
