The city is located in the Agro Pontino on the southern edge of the plain itself, south of the Circeo promontory, near the mouth of the Amaseno river, on the Tyrrhenian coast (Gulf of Gaeta). The city develops from an offshoot of Monte Sant'Angelo, where the historic center lies, up to the Circe seafront. The cliff of Pisco Montano clearly marks the southern border of the town centre; to the south the Fondi plain opens up, to the north the urbanization progressively slopes towards the open countryside and rural villages. The Portatore river flows through the municipal territory, into whose waters, in the last stretch, both the Amaseno river and the Ufente river flow.
