A beautiful artificial lake in the Salbertrand Wood with an underlying structure. I found this useful description on the internet ... The building with thick stone walls, buried and covered with trees with a shading function, is the last example of a nineteenth-century Piedmontese ice chest still intact. The ice produced in the winter in the adjoining artificial lake was kept until the summer, before being loaded onto the wagons, covered with wet jute bags, and transported to the markets of Turin and Briançon. The seasonal nature of the work (complementary to the agricultural one) made the extraction and conservation of ice an important economic resource for mountain dwellers.

Nice lake. It is possible to go fishing but you have to buy the ticket with authorization in the village of Sauze d’Oulx.
