The car-free island is dominated by a hotel on its north side. It's wonderful to take a walk around the entire island, find a place to relax in one of the tiny coves, and enjoy the views of the neighboring islands and the Marstrand nature reserve.

A causeway leads from the village of Kroken across the tiny island of Lammholmen to the larger island of Skräddarön. From here there is a beautiful view of the bays of Tjuvkile and Lycke Kile, as well as the Nordöns nature reserve.

The fortress was built to protect the west coast and served for a long time as a notorious prison. The most famous inmates were the master thief Lasse Maja, who, after five years in prison, worked in the prison kitchen for another 15 years, was pardoned by the king (as the only inmate) for his culinary skills, and appointed royal chef; and the only woman, Metta Fock, who was presumably imprisoned innocently and eventually executed.

Anyone who takes a break here gets a bit of a "sittin' on the dock of the bay" feeling and can see the boats coming and going.

A wonderful hike for young and old. A certain degree of surefootedness is required, as some sections involve rocks and stones. The hike is also no problem with a dog. The ferry to the island departs every few minutes and costs just 80kr per adult round trip. There are a few nice cafés at the harbor, and you can also find the occasional snack or even a larger meal. In summer, if you don't mind a bit of cold water, you can also enjoy the cool water and refresh yourself at several swimming spots. All around, an island worth seeing.

The tree is huge and worth a visit. It's impossible to miss when walking around Marstrand.

Absolutely worth seeing! A dreamy little Swedish town where the clocks 'tick differently'. However, it's also jam-packed. It's worth arriving early.

The gates open early in the morning at 11:00 am. Arriving early ensures the feeling of being in command, including a secret passage. No annoying supervisors and a great experience for the kids. Then off across the island.

An extra excellent bathing section for nude bathing protected from prying eyes and separated for men and women. With the men there is a small hut to shelter.
