The Lauenensteiner Platte hiking parking area has space for approximately 10-12 cars and is located directly at the L 425 pass. The approximately 80 km long Ith-Hils circular hiking trail also passes by here. It's a good starting point for excursions into the Ith hills and to its cliffside paths along the ridge.

It's a beautiful landscape up there.

Shady spot

April/Started in Holzen at the "Parkplatzwand" (Parking Wall) for climbers. Along small paths. A steady climb at the beginning. Narrow paths occasionally give way to slightly wider ones. Through the not-fully leafed foliage, the yellow rapeseed fields in the valley are visible. Wood anemones, woodruff, carpets of wild garlic, rock faces from below, and ledges offering a view from above. A nice stop for motorcycle enthusiasts and the hungry. Meeting point with plenty of outdoor seating: Bistro & Bikertreff - "Auf dem Ith." Coffee and cake are also available. In the final third, watch the takeoffs and landings at the edge of the glider airfield, and a narrow uphill and, above all, downhill path leads back past the climbing walls. Surefootedness is required. Poles can be helpful for the uphill and downhill sections. Small sections were cordoned off due to nesting birds of prey, but a detour is in place. Highly recommended.
