A geothermal pool within a limestone cavern, the water is a constant temperature of 33 °C (91 °F). It is believed that the caverns can go as deep as 130 meters (ca. 427 feet), although the bottom has never been mapped out.

You will be able to see a beautiful rocky landscape that surrounds the small town of Shoshone. With lots of bushes and other small plant life, it's not a path with much shade. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen.

Grimshaw Lake, named after Edwin Lewis Grimshaw, was created by building a dam on the stream coming from the hot springs of the Tecopa Mountains. The lake was created to attract ducks to the area for hunting, but It's now part of an important ecosystem as a home for several flora and fauna.

The narrow and twisted “slot canyon” is a unique and interesting side canyon with vertical walls. There is a shallow river which you should have no difficulty crossing it. You will find several desert creatures, such as the zebra tailed lizard and even friendly scorpions. Of course, take much care when coming into close contact with wild animals.

The name originates from the Spanish word, amargo (bitter) and a shortened version of agua amargosa (bitter water) possibly referring to the alkaline water. The river winds through the Amargosa Canyon, straddling the Sperry Hills and the Dumont Hills, before entering into the Dumont Dunes in the northern Mojave Desert.

A very hidden valley with a café, a shop and shady places
