The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) Open Space includes a network of dirt roads through Elsmere and Whitney Canyons. There roads are also great sunny biking trails, from which you get great views of the mountains of Angeles National Forest.

Great view of Downtown LA. The climb up into the hills to reach the viewpoint is challenging, but it is worth the effort for the excellent vistas.

This expansive 97-acre park encompasses rolling hills, grassy picnic spots, and designated camping areas. It serves as an excellent starting and ending point for numerous hikes in the Placerita Canyon State Park area.

Stoddard Peak, towering at 4,590 feet in the San Gabriel Mountain range, beckons with an easy hike offering breathtaking valley views. This accessible trail promises a delightful journey for hikers seeking scenic beauty.

The Cucamonga Wilderness encompasses over 12,000 acres of mountains, valleys, and rivers in Angeles National Forest and San Bernardino National Forest. Being a wilderness area, some of the trails are more primitive than city trails, but you are surrounded by wildlife and nature as you run through the mountains. Keep in mind that running in the Cucamonga Wilderness requires a free permit.

This overlook, very close to the tower on Cerro Negro, offers one of the best views in the area. Soak in the great vistas towards Glendale, Los Angeles and the Verdugo Mountains.

This is a gravel road that offers great views and access to the Viper trail.
