Clonaslee is a small village in County Laois, Ireland, located at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The village is known for its rural charm and traditional Irish character, and is also a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering access to hiking and walking trails in the nearby mountains. The area has a rich cultural heritage, with local events, such as the annual Clonaslee St. Patrick's Day Festival.

The peak of Arderin sits on the borders of Laois and Offaly at 527m high and marks the highest points of both counties. It is also the highest point of the Slieve Boom Mountain Range, one of the oldest in Europe, and provides excellent views across the surrounding landscape. The trip up can get boggy so bring appropriate footwear and poles if required.

A group of 3 standing stones marks the spot of Glendine Gap, and the border between Counties Offaly and Laois in Ireland. This is a very scenic area with tremendous views across the neighbouring counties.

The waterfall is not too far from the parking lot and is easy to include in a short hike.

From the parking lot you are directly in the forest and it is not far to the waterfall. It is possible to make tours of different lengths. The paths are well signposted.
