A fantastic view of the national park valley, which has a touch of the Grand Canyon here. You can also see a waterfall. There are several trails to explore. National park tickets are checked at the parking lot, but at around 4 p.m. in early October, there were no more people there, and admission was free.

Great view over the national park. 554 steps take you almost to the top, offering a fantastic view. The path leads past a cave, which is accessible when open. National Park tickets are checked at the parking lot below; if you park before or after, you may be able to bypass the check.

A great waterfall, but very crowded. Even in the off-season, it's very crowded and costs €20 per person to enter (€40 in peak season). For nature lovers, the spots further up in Krka National Park are definitely more recommended.

Even out of season and during the week it is very crowded

St. James's Cathedral was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. The cathedral is one of the most important buildings in the Dalmatian region. The magnificent Gothic and Renaissance church took almost 100 years to build. The cathedral was also a filming location for the popular TV series "Game of Thrones" and served as the backdrop for the "Iron Bank."

One of the few saints highly esteemed outside of Christianity is Saint Francis, known in German-speaking countries as Francis of Assisi. Francis was born in Assisi in 1181/82 and died in 1226. A bon vivant in his youth as the son of wealthy parents, he later turned to Christ. One day, while praying in the half-ruined church of San Damiano, situated on a hillside outside the city walls of Assisi, he heard the voice of Christ coming down from the cross, calling him to "rebuild his Church." At first, he took this request literally and restored the church building. Later, he came to realize that the Church was primarily about the community of believers. Francis became a role model for many people; they joined him, and the "Order of the Friars Minor" (Ordo Fratrum Minorum) of Francis of Assisi was founded. Today, the vast Franciscan order family includes three male branches: the Franciscans, the Friars Minorites, and the Capuchins; and two female branches: the Franciscan nuns and the Poor Clares. In addition, there is the "Third" or "Secular" Order, which is open to women and men who do not take the traditional religious vows (poverty, chastity, and obedience) and continue to live in their families and professions.

The same stone forms both the outer skin and the inner wall of the church," write the authors of this remarkable church with special UNESCO World Heritage status, drawing the final conclusion: "A construction based on the principle of clarity and complete correspondence between external and internal form."
