This limestone lake, site of a former quarry, has a depth of 45.2 meters at the deepest point. On sunny days, the contrast between the white cliffs and deep blue water is stunning.

This is a scenic former quarry and lake. It is known for its steep, white chalk slopes, which provide a stark contrast to the water.

The best place to take beautiful sunset photos (with or without a camera) isn't directly on the beach, but here! Just make sure it's not too windy... [I'm sure I'll find some cloud-free photos from one of my summer stays... ;-) ]

Viewed from the beach, the chalk cliff Bulbjerg stands out from the landscape. From the top, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside and the sea.

The large lake is very pretty, the others (towards the beach) are unfortunately overgrown (July '25).

Endless beach, dunes, heathland and two seas flowing into each other.

The idyllic Store Økssø lake is located in the Rold Skov forest area. A flat walking path with picnic areas runs around its shore, which is also accessible with strollers. Swimming is possible in the lake all year round, even in winter.
