The North Overlook presents a stunning panoramic view of the prairie and the Orella Badlands that surrounds Scotts Bluff.

Wehrspann Lake Trail encircles the 245-acre Wehrspann Lake. This paved path is popular with bikers and walkers alike, so watch out for pedestrians.

The OPPD Arboretum in Omaha is a green space and outdoor education area that is managed by the Omaha Public Power District. Hiking through the area, you can discover a variety of trees, shrubs, and plants. The arboretum is designed to showcase environmentally friendly landscaping practices and sustainable energy solutions.

From the lookout you can see the Missouri River — the longest river in the country — and across the Deroin Bend Conservation Area into western Missouri. The lookout has two informational signboards.

From the accessible boardwalk you can venture under the overhang of Indian Cave to view the indigenous petroglyphs on the sandstone walls. The date and origin of the petroglyphs is unknown.

At the park you will find two hiking loops — a northern loop of around 2.1 miles which takes you to the overlook tower, and aa southern loop of about 2.3 miles which takes you around the park. In the park you will find markers of indigenous burial sites, a treetop adventure course, swimming, basketball, golf, and the Peter Kiewit Lodge. The aerospace museum at the bottom of the park is a worthwhile post-hike attraction.

The trails around Wehrspann Lake are paved and popular for bikers. This area is great for walking, and has plenty of shade and seating areas from which to enjoy the lake.

You will find a fun rock scramble to the top of Lover's Leap with stunning views of Fort Robinson. Well worth the effort!
