A real insider tip in the Ilm Valley: The mill shop with its traditional German bakery offers fresh bread and rolls on Fridays, and seasonal sheet cakes on weekends. Hot and cold drinks and a small selection of food are also available. The flour for baking is produced directly in the watermill – and you'll find many special regional products in the shop.

The obelisk is a cultural monument and at the same time a silent witness to the transformation of the palace gardens in the 19th century, when people began to combine baroque austerity with landscape romanticism.
