The castle towers high above the west coast. Even on the way there, we enjoyed the drive through small villages and hilly landscapes. Once at the top, we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the sea and the offshore islands. The Venetian fortress dates back to the 15th century and was once built as protection against pirates. Even though only parts of the complex remain, history can be felt at every corner. A short walk around the castle rounded off our visit.
