The Old Camp in Münsingen, in the Reutlingen district of Baden-Württemberg, is a former military barracks dating from the German Empire of the late 19th century, and has been a listed historical monument since 1996. The former training ground of the XIII Royal Württemberg Army Corps was established in 1895 on the Swabian Alb. The barracks for enlisted men, lieutenants, and officers, the provisions depot, and the officers' mess hall, built at that time, have remained almost unchanged in their external appearance to this day. Prisoners of war were housed in the Old Camp during both World Wars. After the Second World War, French troops were stationed there for decades, and from 1957 onward, the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) were also permitted to conduct maneuvers there. On August 1, 1992, it was handed over to the Bundeswehr when the French Army withdrew its troops from reunified Germany. The Old Camp is currently open to the public daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is connected to the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve and the former military training area by a footpath and cycle path opened at the end of 2019.
