The house has been renovated and is truly worth seeing. However, it is not yet open to the public, as it is privately owned.

Interesting place. The sheep went all the way to the bottom of the funnel.

The early baroque Magdalene Church on the Biber dates back to 1628/29, when the hermit Johannes Schelle had a small church built, which was consecrated in 1636. Slightly below the church you can find naturally formed rock caves. These used to serve the hermits as additional prayer rooms. The settlement of the Biberhöhe is documented up to the early 19th century. The last hermit died in 1813. The Stations of the Cross, which were added in 1733/1736, are largely still in their original state with their 15 stations. This makes the Biber one of the first Stations of the Cross in Bavaria. It is laid out in a horseshoe shape, with the individual stations represented in the form of chapels. It is unusual that the resurrection of Christ was included in the Stations of the Cross. https://www.brannenburg.de/orte/kirchen/wallfahrtskirche-st-magdalena/

Remains of the hermit house from 1628 and the hell cell. A little below the church you will find naturally formed rock caves. These used to serve as additional prayer rooms for the hermits. The colonization of the beaver cave has been proven up to the early 19th century. The last hermit died in 1813. To describe the tour on the beaver as a mountain tour would probably be a bit too much. Just ignoring him like that wouldn't do him justice either. The hiking trail leads through the deciduous forest, which is a magnificent play of colors, especially in autumn. And when you sit at the highest point and let your gaze wander towards the Wendelstein area, you know that even short tours can offer beautiful views. The Förchenbach - its name means "trout stream" - has its source on the Wendelstein, passes the Tatzelwurm and cuts deep into the rocks before it comes to Brannenburg and then flows into the Inn. The devil built this high rock wall by the stream, about halfway between Brannenburg and Tatzelwurm, because he wanted to block the stream here and dam up the water. In fact, Satan is said to have managed to seal off the narrow valley. The water could no longer drain away and a reservoir formed behind the so-called Teufelsmauer.
