A beautiful and challenging route through the forest. A real challenge with a recumbent bike and a dog trailer attached.

This is about the "Café am Kloster," not the monastery building, which is a highlight in its own right. So be careful when framing your photo.

Its source is in Münsterland and it flows into the Zwarte Water near Zwolle. The catchment area of the Overijsselse Vecht covers 3,780 km². The first written mention of the Overijsselse Vecht dates from around 1232 and appears in the treatise Narracio.

Gernot Candolini, Builder of the Frenswegen Labyrinth, born in 1959, is the director of the Montessori School in Innsbruck, a teacher, author, and labyrinth builder. He has been working on the subject of labyrinths for many years and has published, among other works, the books "Labyrinth - Inspiration for the Journey of Life" (Herder) and "Labyrinth - Paths of Knowledge and Love" (Claudius). A labyrinth, in a sense, is the artistic design of a winding path that regularly changes direction and leads to the center of the concentrically designed structure. Labyrinths (unlike mazes) do not lead to wanderings and have no dead ends. They have been constructed for millennia to train those who walk through them to walk slowly. Besides the functional rationality that determines our daily lives and must do so for the long term, the labyrinth offers a different, complementary perspective on life: it can be enriching, enlightening, and deepening to reach your goal by taking a detour, slower and more intensely. Labyrinth and Spirituality It is not without reason that the art form of the labyrinth is so deeply rooted in the Christian, particularly monastic, tradition. By rejecting external influences and focusing on the path to the center, where all mystical traditions of humanity have designated a special place for encountering God, human existence can be experienced in all its depth and richness. A labyrinth-shaped structure supports this path with its various circuits around the center, helping the seeker on their journey not only spiritually but also physically.
