This is a truly idyllic place to take a break. The Saßlage in Holte-Lastrup is located on a small island, home to an old half-timbered building. The old house in this idyllic setting is now very popular for weddings. "Saßlage" is the name for a water depression. This was once used to draw water for firefighting or to water livestock.

The seating area is completely covered. We were really surprised at how big the venue is.

Church of St. John in Ahmsen

The former Marist monastery in Ahmsen was founded in 1922 as a training center for the order's young members. Since 1982 it has served as a "meeting house" and offers seminars and additional leisure activities. There is a multi-purpose hall, a tennis court, a bowling alley and lots of nature available for this purpose. The historic fortification and a former farm fence are worth a look.
