On November 8, 1863, the new neo-Gothic brick church was inaugurated. Only the old, well-fortified tower remains standing, but it also has its two slate-covered peaks. Inside the church, the neo-Romanesque crucifix points to the origin, center and goal of the evangelical faith to those who come to the service or for reflection and inspection. The old portal from 1518 is behind the baptismal font. Since Good Friday 1981, the west wall has been occupied by the "Crown of Thorns in Liebenburg". Since 1996, the "Angel of Resurrection with Cross" has been located behind the pulpit - both works by the artist Gerd Winner, who lives in the castle. The organ on the northern side gallery was built in 1983 by "Emil Hammer Orgelbau" Hanover. It has 16 registers, three of which are from the old Heyder organ from 1863. During the day the church is open for quiet contemplation.
