The easy jogging or hiking route from and to Salveymühle leads behind the Bismarck oak tree to the right through the fields. Beautiful light, splashes of color from cornflowers and moonflowers in June (but little shade in the heat).

First mentioned as a castle at the end of the 12th century, Penkun Castle is today one of the last remaining castles of the Pomeranian Dukes. The castle association runs a border and customs museum in the former administrator's house, and there is a small exhibition on the judicial system in Pomerania in the castle cellar.

Tower provides insight into the wilderness near Staffelde The observation tower in Mescherin provides national park visitors with an overview of the Staffelde Polder from a height of eleven meters The newest observation tower in the Lower Oder Valley National Park is located directly on the Oder, north of the Mescherin border bridge. With its slender shape and curved roof, which was modeled on the wings of cranes, it is an architectural attraction on the northern edge of the large protected area. From the viewing platform, which is 11 meters high, visitors have a magnificent view of the Staffelde Polder. Here, visitors are given a glimpse into the future of the Oder Valley. The wilderness in the Staffelde Polder has been able to develop undisturbed for 20 years. Large areas of reed landscapes, interrupted by watercourses, dominate the area.
