This stone village church truly stands out. It's unusually sturdy and so ideally situated in the small village that it offers excellent views from all sides. There are plenty of great photo opportunities!

Very nice facility

This beautiful bathing area with a large sunbathing lawn is certainly accessible by car, but the roads are very poor. It's certainly not necessary to drive close to everything. The area is so beautiful that it's definitely worth taking a stroll or bike ride!

In addition to the checkerboard stone, a sundial and finishing-work stones are also attached to the church. The church was damaged several times by fire, including a lightning strike in 1743 and a fire in 1808, which completely gutted it; reconstruction work was completed in 1817.

Among the most important furnishings is a tall, three-tiered carved wooden altar with richly decorated ormolu work, dating from 1625. It originated in Schmölln and was installed in Gerswalde in 1983. The altar depicts scenes of the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Ascension, as well as the Evangelists in shell niches.

The present castle is said to have originally been part of the outer bailey of Gerswalde Castle, which had belonged to the Lords of Arnim since 1463. In 1724, a manor house was built, which was converted into a castle in 1832.

The Gerswalde moated castle houses a museum that lovingly presents historical everyday objects, an old classroom, a dollhouse, and a fishing museum.

The young adults live in a separate residential building and are supervised intermittently by at least two experienced educational professionals to promote their independence and the creation of educational or professional prospects.
