The Binsfelder Weiher in the Eifel is located near the municipality of Binsfeld. It is part of the "Tongruben bei Binsfeld" nature reserve, which was created by former clay mining. Today the pond offers a valuable habitat for rare animal and plant species.

Spangdahlem Air Base is a US air base in Rhineland-Palatinate. It was opened in 1953 and serves the United States Air Force (USAF) as a major base in Europe. The base currently houses the 52nd Fighter Wing, which is equipped with F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft. Spangdahlem plays a central role in NATO defense and supports operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In addition to its military importance, the base is also an important economic factor for the region.
