Quite a unique thing to see around here! A little difficult to bike/walk through the sand, but a very cool sight nonetheless!

A beautiful corner, very quiet, not many people around. Unfortunately, you can't do the entire circular route at the moment, as there is a locked gate at the end of the Oberer Froschkanzelsee lake that ends the path. 09/24

On the information board of the Geo-Nature Park Bergstraße-Odenwald there is information about the boundary stone and "The Wildhube Kessenau" - and the disappeared village of Seehof

Description The Froschkanzel lakes are located in the Lorsch district, just over a kilometer south of the edge of the urban settlement and at about 95 meters above sea level, one after the other on the Landgraben, which runs northeast just before it flows into the Weschnitz. The Landgraben, which flows there on the left edge of the Weschnitzaue, runs close to the southeast shore of both lakes, and the lakes border the large Forehahi forest area to the northwest. The Upper Froschkanzelsee is around 300 m long and up to 60 m wide, and has an area of around 1.3 hectares. The Lower Froschkanzelsee, which lies a little further down the Landgraben from the Upper, is around 500 m long and up to 90 m wide, and has an area of around 4.2 hectares. Squeezed between the northeast end of this lake and the Weschnitz is a property belonging to the Seehof residential area of Lorsch. Both lakes drain via the Landgraben and then the Weschnitz to the Upper Rhine.
