The Altoschatz manor was created in 1629 from the merging of two outlying farms. The manor house was built in 1715. It was expropriated in 1945 as part of the land reform. The manor house served as a residence and was last renovated in the 1980s. The manor grounds now have several owners. The manor house is empty and derelict. The Oschatz City and Scales Museum is located in the historic buildings of the former council and administrative prison, which directly adjoin the partially well-preserved old town wall. This park was created as a follow-up to the 4th Saxon State Garden Show in 2006 and today delights visitors of all ages with a wide range of attractions.
