Very beautiful town hall

St. Egidien's Church is located directly adjacent to Colditz Castle. It is the largest church in the town of Colditz. It was first documented in 1286. After being destroyed in a fire in 1430, it was rebuilt in 1504. The only remaining part is the high choir with its ribbed net vault made of Rochlitz porphyry. “Lies that make the beams bend.” According to legend, the saying goes back to the crooked house in Colditz at Schlossgasse 4.

At the Lusthausteich there is an information board that illustrates and describes the former pleasure house.

The hiking trail is officially closed because the bridge is impassable. However, that's no problem; you can easily bypass it by following the paths. Once at the top, you can enjoy the view either from the platform, the Heimatturm (presumably open to the public), or the Jungenfelsen (a particularly peaceful spot). Continue along the path—it's worth it.
