The Geller Haken, a view of the island of Hiddensee, and a spectacular wind-blown mudflat (water areas dry out - closed to pleasure boats) are revealed to those viewing from the observation tower on the Barhöfter Cliff. A one-euro coin is required for entry to the tower. The walk there from the harbor is approximately 450 meters and not wheelchair accessible (stairs), but offers a varied walk through natural surroundings past the cliff.

On clear days, the island of Hiddensee can be seen on the horizon. Seabirds and wading birds breed on the pristine beach and dune landscapes.
