Great historic fountain at the Landeck castle ruins ⛰️

Wölf is a district of the market town of Eiterfeld in the Fulda district of eastern Hesse. Approximately 250 people live here. The oldest known written mention of Wölf dates back to 1003 in a document from the Imperial Monastery of Hersfeld under the name Wilphaha. The local sports club, SV Wölf 1925, plays in the Fulda North District League and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025.

Unterweisenborn is a district of the municipality of Schenklengsfeld in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district of eastern Hesse. The village lies south of the main town of Schenklengsfeld on the eastern slope of the Ringberg hill. The village has a population of just under 80. As far as is known, the village was first mentioned in writing in 1314 under the name Inferior Wyzzenborn. The village acquired its current name via Niedern Wissinborn. However, grave finds indicate settlement as early as the 2nd century. In 1920, a Chattic-Germanic settlement dating to the 2nd/3rd century AD was discovered here on the Ringberg. An information panel at the cemetery hall provides information about this. Many half-timbered buildings still survive today in this predominantly agricultural district.

A healing spring was mentioned as early as 1445. In 1688, two more springs emerged, which was considered a miracle. The healing properties of the water made Schenklengsfeld famous as a spa town beyond the region for several years.
