In the first half of the 13th century, a ruin was created after the demolition in November 1646

If you don't want to start in the village center at the church, you can alternatively start here. To run the Red Water Tour in the (recommended) clockwise direction, you have to "speed" across the street.

Great for picnics with the family

Very beautifully laid out and well-kept fairy tale forest. I particularly like the children's drawings for the fairy tales.

If you go a little way into this rock cellar, you can feel the cold. This is how they used to always have cold drinks for their inn in front of it.

It is a wonderful place up here at the ruins of the castle, which was probably built in the 13th century, later converted into a landgrave's palace in the 16th century and unfortunately destroyed in 1646 during the Hessian War. I liked it here in the wonderful summer weather so much that I made two sketches to help me remember this moment even better.

The Langer Grund nature reserve is a highlight overall and it is definitely worth doing several hiking tours here!

Since there are very few parking spaces available at the "Rotes-Wasser-Tour" hiking portal at the church of Bracht, this parking lot can also be used as the start and finish point of this tour.
