Over 2000 years ago, the Celts developed a tree calendar based on a lunar calendar with 13 months. Each month corresponded to a lunar phase and was therefore about 28 days long according to today's calendar. In keeping with the seasons, the Celts divided the year into two half-years from March to September and from September to March, i.e. the time of long and short days. The Celtic tree calendar assigned 21 trees to the different phases of the year, which make up a Celtic tree horoscope. Oak, birch, olive and beech represent the change of seasons.
