Set in the picturesque countryside near Lienz, Austria, Maria Trost Chapel offers hikers and nature lovers a peaceful stopover.

In the middle of Oberlienz, the open-air museum invites you on an exciting journey through time. Along the "Old Life" theme trail, you can discover five historic buildings and two mills that impressively depict the rural history and traditional building methods of East Tyrol. Highlights include the functioning smithy, a water-powered wool grinder and the last remaining 18th-century crushing room in Oberlienz. Information boards along the trail offer exciting insights into the past - a worthwhile destination for history buffs and nature lovers!

Very nice hut with a great host. Regional delicacies and a little homemade schnapps are a given. One of the first huts to open (even in the low season).

The bench is located between the Naturfreunde Hut and Meckis Pannorama Hut. It took us three attempts before the bench was besieged by other hikers 😁, but the reward is a great view and relaxation!

The only hut that was open in the off-season! Very friendly owners with great food. You especially have to try the homemade cakes!!!! We were there several times and really enjoyed our time!
