The Schnopfhagen monument on the Hansberg commemorates Hans Schnopfhagen (1845-1908). Schnopfhagen was a composer, local poet and pedagogue. Until his death, Hans Schnopfhagen was a teacher and headmaster in the neighboring community of St. Veit. He also wrote the “Hoamtgsang,” which has been the Upper Austrian national anthem since 1953.

“Look into the country” You can enjoy a wonderful view from the Hansberg Below the snack station on Hansberg, the highest elevation in St. Johann am Wimberg (850 m), there is a bench next to the Herrgottskreuz. "Sankt Hans", as they say here, is a beautifully situated village. It is also a stage destination on the granite pilgrimage route. The Kepplingerwirt with its award-winning cuisine can be recommended as accommodation. Book a room early!
