Final stop: Reblaus Express

This old city gate is a beautiful sight, especially for the bikers that had to get there from the Thaya bridge. It's a rather steep way up. 😅

Old city gates are always a nice sight. Especially if you have to pedal uphills to reach them, like here. 😅

Raabs is one of the "city wall" towns. The fortifications are extraordinarily well preserved in this proud little town on the hill above the Thaya.

There is also a small shop in the station. A guided city tour also starts here if you arrive on the morning train.

Until the end of the 17th century, Drosendorf Castle was still well-equipped with a variety of defensive structures. These were mainly the result of construction work in the 15th and 16th centuries, when the small inner castle was extended to the southwest. Today, you can spend the night in the castle in true style!

The Horn City Gate with its flanking towers built around 1260/1300 is one of the most important early Gothic gate ensembles in the duchy.

Drosendorf station is the terminus of the Retz-Drosendorf local railway, built in 1910. Coming with the ReblausExpress, you have a good 4 hours to visit the old town with its still intact city walls.
