During the redesign of the main street in 2011/2012, the vision was developed to incorporate water and fountain installations into the pedestrian areas as quiet zones and to also design these places with "art in public space". The artistic design of the "water sculptures" was entrusted to the internationally recognized Mödling porcelain artist Gundi Dietz. In a process lasting several years, three metal sculptures were created that were integrated into a water and fountain system that is unique in Lower Austria. Nice morning round

The Mödling Folklore Museum is housed in a late medieval hewer's house. The exhibition collection shows the topics of forests and wood, agriculture, viticulture, hunting and life in the city. In addition to a complete blacksmith shop, a school class and a shoemaker's workshop, there is a show garden with flowers, herbs and vegetables. During Advent, the Egerländer Christmas nativity scene, a mechanical nativity scene from the second half of the 19th century, is accessible and in operation. “Aurora” is the third fountain that forms the end point of the Mödling Water Mile designed by Gundi Dietz: the colossal bronze head – removed from all space and time by its facial expressions – rises out of the water and crowns a fountain made of shaped stone and stainless steel. Using contemporary building materials concrete, stainless steel and wood, this creates a bridge between water and land, the moving water and the stationary surfaces of the square.
