The freely accessible Hochwart Castle ruins, also known as the "Black Castle," serve as a reminder of the dramatic end of the once mighty fortress of the Counts of Celje, whose line died out in 1456. Destroyed in a succession dispute, the castle was never rebuilt; today, parts of the main tower and walls of the 12th-century chapel still stand in the forest. However, the ruins are unsecured and at risk of collapse, situated partly on steep slopes, and the last 600 meters are only accessible on foot.

This beautifully situated and popular bathing pond is located south of Lake Wörthersee.

It lies there quietly, almost too quiet for a summer day. The Upper Spintik Pond, this artificially created body of water south of Lake Wörthersee, makes no noise – and that's precisely why you remember it. And if you dare – over there by the tree with the supporting branches and the rope – you can jump into the water like you did in your childhood. Without a lifeguard, but with plenty of happiness in your stomach. It's places like this that remind us that nature doesn't have to be staged to be effective. That peace is not the absence of noise, but the re-hearing of one's own. The Spintik Pond is not a postcard image—and that's precisely why you'd rather not recommend it to others. Instead, you'd rather keep it. As a secret. For later.

The parish church dates back to the year 894. In 1399, the church was severely damaged by a fire.

The niche shrine, which now stands on Freisinger Platz, was erected in 1962 under Pastor Paul Beier. The frescoes are by Prof. Josefine Kreuzer from St. Nikolai near Keutschach. St. Christopher faces south. His position is chosen so that every visitor to the pilgrimage site is greeted by this saint. To the east, we see St. Rupert (c. 700), founder and patron saint of Salzburg and the second patron saint of Carinthia. St. Corbinian (680-725) was Bishop of Freising (twin city of Maria Wörth) and is depicted in the northern niche. The image facing west depicts St. Emma, mother of the land and protector of Carinthia.
