The Stauf Castle ruins are an impressive medieval hilltop castle in Haibach ob der Donau, built in the first half of the 12th century by Wernhard de Stove, an ancestor of the Counts of Schaunberg

The Schaunberg ruins, often called Schaunburg, are one of the most impressive historical sites in Upper Austria. They tower above the Eferding Basin in the municipality of Hartkirchen and were once the largest castle complex in the state. Built around 1150 by Heinricus de Scovenberch, a member of the Julbach noble family, they are the ancestral seat of the Counts of Schaunberg and the center of the county of the same name. Originally approximately 17,500 square meters in size, they were the largest castle complex in Upper Austria.

2 km southeast of Strohheim lies the Landerlkapelle, built between 1901 and 1904, with a magnificent view into the Eferding Basin
