A good vantage point for the Hörfeld Moor European nature reserve. The moor is one of the largest and best preserved fens in Austria and is home to a unique flora and fauna. Rare and endangered species such as the curlew, the common snipe, the moor frog and various dragonfly species can be found here. The Hörfeld Moor also has a lot to offer botanically, including orchids, cotton grasses and carnivorous plants such as the sundew.

Hans in Luck is a farce (ATU 1415). It is in the Brothers Grimm's Children's and Household Tales from the 2nd edition of 1819 at position 83 (KHM 83) and comes from the magazine Wünschelruthe, where Friedrich August Wernicke had published it a year earlier (vol. 1818, issue 33) under the title Hans Wohlgemut. The Hörfeld Moor lies south of Mühlen on the border between Styria and Carinthia in a depression that was carved out by the ice age glaciers. Since then, a moor with adjacent wet meadows has developed. Because of its importance for nature, it was declared a European protected area. There are also over 130 species of birds to observe: Whinchat, Rosefinch, Lapwing, Corncrake, Teal and Water Rail are some of them. The starting point is the car park on the B92 south of Mühlen. To the southwest, the path leads directly into the moorland.

Great hike for the whole family. Equipped with a gold nugget and a key, you can explore the story of "Hans im Glück". The tour starts at the Gössler and Hirschwirt inns or at the Schaumühle. Signposts and station huts guide hikers of all ages along almost 6 km through Mühlen like a fairy tale. The last station of the hiking fairy tale is the fountain of youth. From there it goes back to the Schaumühle. At the end, freed from all burdens, the children get a reward in the Gasthaus Gössler or Hirschenwirt :) Walking time approx. 2.5 hours
